I have been repeatedly asked to write
an "About Atlas" page by the web design team
and after much thought I came to the conclusion that
it really isn't about Atlas at all, it is about you
and your company.
Let Me Explain:
After ten wildly successful years
in the telecom business helping companies communicate
more efficiently, I could not shake the nagging feeling
that there was so much more we could do for our client's
benefit. The challenge I faced proved equal to that
of climbing Mt. Everest. History teaches us that over
time, most companies seem to lose a passion for the
customer, along with the excitement and growth that
accompanies that passion. Of course they claim to have
a heart for the customer as we all do, although for
one reason or another it seems to show itself less and
less as time goes on.
At that point, in the midst of the
dot-com mania, we went on an informational binge to
assess which technology would add the most value and
revolutionize how we  conduct
our business on a day to day basis. It kept coming back
to one word, broadband, which simply means high-speed
access. What is currently done with broadband to help
us all be more efficient is truly amazing, but what
will be done over the next few years will absolutely
knock your socks off.
The biggest challenge most businesses
faced was confusion--confusion about what applications
would be best for their productivity and profitability.
Then it became crystal clear what Atlas' mission would
be, to pick industries that would benefit most from
broadband technologies and then seek out and design
solutions specifically for those companies. This allows
